What type of wedding will we have?

What kind of wedding do you want to have? Deciding can be an easy decision but it may not be the same vision as your future spouse. One idea is to have each of you write down a list or collect pictures and then swap with each other. You may be surprised! What you think your future spouse wants may not be what they choose. Then you can discuss the aspects of the wedding that are most important to each of you. If the bride wants a candy buffet, and the groom is concerned about transportation and the music at the reception, give each other an early wedding gift by letting each other take responsibility for that aspect of the planning.

Will others try to impose their ideas for your wedding on you? Most likely that will happen. What can you do in a case like that? Try being proactive and give them a list of tasks to do to keep them involved. Make sure they are useful tasks. If they insist just say a simple no, and do not explain yourself. You don't have to explain yourself as this would suggest that they have a valid argument which would suggest they have a valid point.

"A great marriage is not when the 'perfect couple' comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences." Dave Meurer
