Charitable Contributions

Charity is not usually a word you would associate with weddings. I have always looked for ways in my life to make charitable contributions so I thought why not apply that to weddings.
Instead of gifts for your attendants, have them pick a charity and make a donation in their name. http://Justgive.org
Make arrangements to donate your leftover reception food to a local food rescue program. http://www.secondharvest.org
Instead of something borrowed, new, old and blue, think green. You can incorporate green Eco-friendly practices into your wedding.
Instead of just a typical bridal shower, have your guests volunteer at for a local organization.
After the reception donate your flowers to a hospital or local nursing home.
Instead of favors make a donation to a special cause instead of favors. http://idofoundation.org
If you decide not to keep your wedding gown, donate it to a charitable cause or bring it to a local consignment shop.

Your wedding can be all about you and the causes that are important to you as well.
