I think I am a DIY dreamer. I see all these projects and I think of how great they look and how the directions look so easy. I think to myself that I could do that. But when it comes to actually making them, I am in awe of how great other people make them look. My projects sometimes result in frustation instead of enjoyment. Whether we want to or not, the wedding budget has to be taken into consideration when planning a wedding. That being said, there are definitely strategies you can use to go easier on your budget for the reception.
1. Consider having your wedding during the off season(May through October).
2. Have a daytime reception with a lighter meal and less alcohol consumption.
3. Pick a venue that provides chairs, tables and linens to save on rental costs.
4. Avoid holiday weekends where the hotel costs are at their highest.
5. Ask for a discount. It can't hurt to ask and you may be eligible for one.
