DIY Do's and Don'ts

Doing DIY projects is a trend in weddings that is definitely on the rise. I think it is a great way to add your own personal touch to your wedding day. I myself have looked at projects and thought how much I would like to make that. Then I look at the directions and materials, and it becomes not so much. If I make something I want people to look at it and say how beautiful it looks and what a great job I did. Granted I feel like I am moderately talented at some projects and I am a person who wants control over most anything, (just ask my husband). That being said,
there is a time and a place for DIY in your wedding, but there are also things that should not be DIY projects and left up to the very professional vendors. Does this mean you are giving up control of your wedding? No, it just means that you can relax knowing that your control lies with making the right decision for you and your guests. Here is a link to a great article that talks about the differences.

  1. Great post. Many times these projects seem easy to begin with and then taking up all your free time. That's when DIY becomes DYI (do yourself in).

  2. I like the DYI analogy! :) It made me laugh. The last thing you really want is to get into wedding projects that add to your stress.
