To Hire a Wedding Planner?

I almost hesitate as a planner to write about why couples need my services. I am a new business and I have yet to contract a couple to help with their wedding. I even offered my services for free to a bride the other day and she said her mother in law would be doing it all. It was almost as if she did not see the need for a planner or even knew what a planner does. Doesn't the mother in law get to enjoy the wedding too? That prompted me to write from the heart about what planners can do, specifically what I can do.

With all the expenses that go along with planning a wedding many couples feel like they cannot afford a wedding planner. The question I ask is can you afford not to?
Can you fit a planners fee into your budget? Many planners will work within your budget and customize packages to meet your needs. Not only can planners frequently get you better deals, a planner is a repeat customer to vendors. Vendors are going to want to do a better job to have a planners continuous recommendation. Certified planners are also familiar with contracts and can review them to make sure that everything you need is included.
On the wedding day a planner will make sure everything goes well and happens as it should on your wedding day. They will create a timeline for you and the vendors and be the person everyone calls instead of you if something is needed.
Where else can you find someone who is as focused on you wedding planning as you are? Maybe even almost as excited! Besides me I know many vendors that love what they do and just love the opportunity to help bring your vision to life.
As with any of your vendors you want to get a good feeling when you meet with your planner. You want to connect on a personal level and feel good about working together. Even if they have a cheaper price, if you don't connect and work well together you will probably not be happy with the results.

Planners usually offer a Complimentary Initial Consultation so what do you have to lose but a wedding that goes the way you want it too? I am waiting!
